StatsLink was created on February 29, 2024 as a project to democratize statistics for everyone. The founder of this site, Johnny Lin, obtained his PhD in Quantitative Psychology and has as served in various data-related roles. Most notably, he was as a statistical consultant for six years at UCLA where he advised many graduate students and faculty with gaps in statistical understanding but had the desire to publish statistically rigorous academic work.

After witnessing the meteoric rise of generative AI in 2023 with the debut of OpenAI’s ChatGPT, he pondered the question of whether generative AI can help bridge the gap between the non-technical and technical, between hypothesis generation and statistical rigor? The curiosity of this possibility gave catalyst for creating this site. Although in the early stages of development, the hope is to produce a minimum viable product to showcase the possibilities. The mission being to bring statistics to all people, regardless of their training or background. There will hopefully be exciting things to come!
